At Connecticut Public, I developed and oversaw the production of the station’s first two narrative podcasts: Generation Barney and In Absentia. For both, I did everything from conducting interviews and editing scripts to drafting storyboards and managing the production process.
I produced 5+ segments per week for the national public radio program The Takeaway, from WNYC and PRX. Segments include everything from mental health and COVID-19 to megadroughts in the American Southwest to the history of white violence to the world’s quiet places to the popularity of witchcraft to losing a child to gun violence.
At WNYC, I also produced weekly segments on tech, economics, and business for Money Talking. Episodes include makeover of Hudson Yards, Brexit explainer, and Google’s advertising monopoly.
Before that, I relaunched the The Kicker, a weekly podcast about media and journalism from the Columbia Journalism Review. I also served as its co-host and executive producer. Episodes included class and journalism, reporting on #MeToo, covering white supremacy, and how newsrooms prepare for natural disasters.
I produced and edited episodes of season two of Mobituaries with Mo Rocca, the chart-topping podcast from CBS. Episodes included subjects like Thomas Paine and television’s rural purge.
Outside of my full-time job, I’ve done everything from record interviews to log and transcribe tape to assist in post-production and studio recordings for places like KCRW, NPR, The Atlantic’s Re:think, NYT’s Still Processing, and Columbia University’s On Assignment podcast. I’ve also conceptualized and piloted some podcasts on topics like climate change and sex positivity. I also have experience reporting features and narrative-driven stories for NPR and podcasts like Life Kit.
